Not the easiest way to start a language posted on 2004-05-27
I purchased this after going through Michel Thomas's CD's and found that it really seemed to jump a lot and so I left it. I initially put it down to the fact that it was just my slow learning. However I then moved on to the BBC's Italianissimo series and then a wider range of textbooks, while using Pimsleur Italian series (very expensive).

It is through this experience I think I can say that this book was very weak in allowing the brain to absorb the language as the reader progresses. I never felt that it inspired me to progress or gave me the feeling I was learning something the way other books have.

Although there is worse out there I would not recommend this book!

This book has helped me a lot with my italian. i think everyone should have it becuase it shows the models on pronouns and verbs etc. its worth buying especially if you want to know how to construct a sentence.

a great book with which to learn has excercises which if done often can aide your learning greatly my only gripe is its too american and somewhat dated
