It may be quite effective for remembering lists of words, but not in any way that you'll find easy to use in a conversation. I'd advise you to steer clear of this, except maybe as an extra tool to help you revise your existing Italian vocabulary.

If you want to begin Italian, this is completely unsuitable ... go for Michel Thomas or Pimsleur instead, both of which are excellent.
